RULES
The
game is about a bet between the bank and an unlimited
number of players.
Around a green table, smaller than roulette one, we
can find a chief-table (whose aim is to make sure everything
is done in the correct way) and two croupiers. One of
them (the one called tailleur) lays cards down on the
green baize, and the second croupier takes back losing
fiches and pays the winning ones, using some special
rakes.
During the game they use 6 french card packs (52 cards
per pack), in all 312 cards. Thay use to "burn"
the five starting cards, in a way they can avoid the
player, who can remember cards which have been already
came out, to calculate the distribution of points on
remaining cards. Every card has got its specific value,
while court-cards (J, K, Q) are valued at 10.
The
table has got four areas on it, representing chances
players can bet. Red and Black (exact opposite) and
Colour and Inverse (exact opposite). Contrary to
roulette, in 30 et 40 we can only talk about simple
chances. The tailleur mixes cards (at present time
in Casinos they use a special mixer-dispenser, to escape
any doubt on lawfulness).
Once this first part has come to an end, the croupier
says the famous sentence: "Les
jeux sont faites, rien ne va plus".
The tailleur starts distributing cards making them falling
on the table, one after the other, creating a line (from
leftside to the right).
Once the sum of dealt cards values is over 30 (the sum
should never be over 40) the tailleur stops the distribution
and gives notice of the final result, by announcing
only the units of the sum: for example if the result
is 33 he announces just 3 (in French). Then he starts
creating a new line, under the previous one following
the same method. In this case too, he will give notice
of units only.
The
Red or Black player has to stake on one of these two
lines. By convention the first line is Black, while
the second conforms with the Red. The winning line is
the one whose sum (which should always go over 30 but
never exceed 40) is minor. Therefore, if a player stakes
Red he wins only if the second line has got a sum which
is minor than the first black line.
Considering "COLOUR" and "INVERSE"
bets, the croupier considers just the first card of
the winning line. If this card has got the same colour
of the winning line, the "COLOUR" is winning
(GAGNE) otherwise the winner is the "INVERSE"
(colour PERDE). If, for instance, the first line (black)
is winning, and the first card of this line is black.,
the Colour is winning. Once the croupier has finished
the distribution, the other croupier , who has to announce
who's winner and who's loser, will always talk about
Red (ROUGE) and Colour (COULEUR) specifing if one of
these two chances is losing or winning. Everything happens
by speaking French.
If
the sum of two lines is equal, the games is null and
players can take back their stakes.
If two sums are equal but amount to 31 (31 après),
players can not take back their stakes (here is the
little advantage of the bank). The player can take back
his own stake only if in the following blow cames out
the chance he staked before. As it happens in Roulette
game, the player can ask the Bank for the partager,
that means the return of half-part of the stake. If
the 31 après comes out two times on end, the
stake (as it happens when 0 cames out at roulette on
simple chances) is blocked till the following blow.
The stake will set free only if the chance the player
staked comes out in the following two blows. In this
case too the player can ask for the partager, but he
will have back just a quarter of the sum he have staked.
When
a player wins, on any of two chances, the bank pays
the total sum of the stake. Leaving out of consideratoion
complicated mathematical calculation, we'd like to inform
you that the mathematical advantage of the Bank is 1.096%
(a value which is minor than the one of the roulette).
Peculiarity of 30 et 40: We
can insure ourselves against the 31 après. The
player can do this by using the 1% of his own stake.
In this case once he runs into the 31 après in
both lines, he can take back his fiches (null blow).
In many cases this operation is allowed only to players
whose stakes amount to great sums (Insurance sums can
vary considering different casinos).
